The Municipal Government of Burgos successfully conducted a town-wide rice distribution program on May 12, 2026, benefiting a total of 2,176 households across all 12 barangays of the municipality.
The project was funded under the Local Government Support Fund – Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (LGSF-FALGU) FY 2026, as part of the national government’s PBBM Rice Distribution Program. Under this initiative, each pre-identified household is set to receive a total of four rice allocations, weighing 10 kilograms per distribution, which will be released every other month. The rollout on May 12 marked the official launch and the first 10-kilogram distribution of the program. The activity aimed to provide immediate support and relief to the community, ensuring that sustainable food assistance reaches local families.
To ensure an orderly and smooth flow of the distribution, municipal and provincial officials personally monitored the activity. Present during the rollout were Mayor Delfin C. Comedis, Jr., LGOO VII Rocelyn Charina B. Flora, MLGOO Yolanda P. Vergara, Engr. Arianne Joyce O. Dumo, the Sangguniang Bayan Members, and the Punong Barangays from all 12 barangays.
Through the close coordination between the local government unit, DILG representatives, and the barangay councils, the distribution was successfully completed in all scheduled areas.
For more information regarding the subsequent distribution schedules and claiming details in their respective areas, residents are advised to coordinate directly with their local Barangay Officials.
