The Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office 1 conducted the nationwide rollout and distribution of the Presidential Assistance for Farmers and Fisherfolk (PAFFP) at the Municipal Plaza in Burgos, La Union, on April 28, 2026. During the event, the agency successfully distributed the PAFFP financial aid, amounting to P2,325.00 each in cash, to 729 qualified farmer beneficiaries.
Funded under the 2026 General Appropriations Act (RA 12314), the PAFFP is designed to provide immediate relief to agricultural workers and farmers affected by economic instability and global market fluctuations brought about by geopolitical tensions involving the United States of America (USA), Israel, and Iran. As part of the standard verification process, the beneficiaries were required to present photocopies of their valid identification cards for proper documentation.
This strategic distribution ensures that local farmers receive necessary support to mitigate the impact of international pressures on the domestic agricultural sector within the municipality.
