The Local Government Unit of Burgos, La Union, under the leadership of Hon. Delfin C. Comedis Jr., has expressed its sincere appreciation to the Office of Civil Defense Region 1 for the opportunity to participate in the recently conducted Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (LDRRM) Course for Barangay and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils.

The training brought together local leaders and disaster responders, equipping them with essential knowledge, practical skills and valuable insights aimed at enhancing disaster preparedness and response at the community level. The initiative is seen as a significant step toward strengthening the municipality’s capacity to effectively implement disaster risk reduction and management programs.

A special commendation was also extended to Hon. Marlon C. Gumba, Sangguniang Bayan Committee Chair on Disaster, for his active participation and steadfast support throughout the training. His commitment to completing the course alongside fellow participants highlights the importance of strong leadership in advancing disaster resilience efforts.

The LGU likewise recognized the continued support of Municipal Mayor Hon. Delfin C. Comedis Jr., whose dedication to disaster risk reduction and management initiatives has been instrumental in empowering local officials and responders. His leadership has played a vital role in improving coordination, preparedness and response mechanisms across the municipality.

With the enhanced competencies gained from the training, barangay officials and MDRRM Council members are now better equipped to respond to emergencies and mitigate disaster risks within their communities.
