Responding to the persistent request of Municipal Mayor Robert B. Madarang, Jr., the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) thru DIC Cluster 1, a TECH4ED HUB/CENTER was finally established in the Municipality and is now temporarily housed in the Municipal Conference Hall. It can be recalled that the Sangguniang Bayan passed a Resolution on March 22, 2021authorizing the Municipal Mayor, for and in behalf of the MLGU, to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with the DICT for its establishment.

The TECH4ED Project evolved from the Philippine Community eCenter program, a national digital inclusion initiative establishing eCenters that provide critic e-government and ICT-enabled services in communities with minimal or no access to information and government Services. The Tech4Ed Platform is a Learning Management System developed to house various content and learning materials accessible in Tech4Ed Centers. It has eight (8) segments with content aimed at developing and enhancing the knowledge and skills competencies of Center users, namely: (1) eDuSkills which delivers e-Learning on demand to address the education divide; (2) eAssist which aims to empower special sectors through access to necessary skills training content in answer to specific industry needs; (3)  Gender and Development that provides content on women empowerment, policies for protection of women and skills enhancement; (4) eAgri which provides contents and services on agriculture technologies to enhance and localize technologies to increase productivity and reduce cost for farmers and fisherfolks; (5) Rural Impact Sourcing which also provides an introduction to online job opportunities  and learning materials to enhance knowledge and practical skills for online workers and entrepreneurs; (6) eHealth that also provides basic health information and access to existing and available Philippine-based health related online resources; (7) eMarketPlace that provides greater market reach of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) beyond heir immediate community to raise their economic growth and opportunities; and (8)eGovServices which links the user to the National Government Portal (NGP), a single window containing all online information and operational infrastructures, and public services of the government.

The DICT provided at least four (4) Tech4Ed units and accessories to this Center.  Mayor Madarang urges all municipal employees and officials, as well as barangay officials to inform the public of the availability of this project and to avail of it accordingly.
